Mike Giant, cover of our September 2007 issue and contributing writer on occasion, has a new solo show, Confessions of an Old Dirty Skateboarder, opening at Fecal Face Dot Gallery on Friday, July 20. We will be heading out to the opening, as it will be a great chance to catch Giant's recent drawings and also a "rare opportunity to view Giant's personal collection of skateboards he illustrated the graphics for."

The Brain Snap App

San Francisco based artist, designer, illustrator and all around creative dude Patrick Sean GIbson has just launched an App, Brain Snap. Reminiscent of the opening title sequence to Saved By The Bell, Brain Snap is a photo-based app featuring insane characters, florescent hallucinations, and bizarre freak scene illustrations, all created by Gibson.

We had the honor of catching up with NYC stencil artist, Logan Hicks, this past month for a feature in our September issue and a discussion about his new body of work, Structural Integrity, that will open at The Outsiders, London, on Friday, July 20. As well as showing his photorealistic stencil works of dark urban landscapes, Hicks will be showing his excellent photography works that he has been shooting over the past half decade.

This past Friday the 13th, bad luck was celebrated at Neck Face’s Simply The Worst opening at New Image Gallery in Los Angeles, Calif. Art collectors, graffiti enthusiasts, and the elite of skateboarding showed up to support Neckface. The respect is mutual, as Neck Face says, "Those are my people, they know who I am and I know who they are. We all come from the gutter."

This weekend we stopped by the opening of Laurie Lipton's LA Sous-Real, her new exhibition at Los Angeles' Ace Gallery. The exhibition featured a huge selection of Lipton's works from the past half-decade, an impressively rendered set of large-scale graphite and pencial works on paper.
