The Art of Craola

Juxtapoz // Thursday, September 13, 2012
I admired Greg "Craola" Simkins' art even when said art consisted of working at a video game company ten years ago rendering patches of snow for twelve hours a day...

The Works of Suzannah Sinclair

Juxtapoz // Thursday, September 13, 2012
This isn't the first time we have talked about the work of Suzannah Sinclair, and it won't be the last. With memories of classic 1970's erotica, done in watercolors and pencil, the work of the Maine-based fine artist feels nostalgic to a more subtle era of sexuality and nude work. No props, just beautiful subjects with classic rendering chops.

Hong Chun Zhang's Hairy Objects

Illustration // Thursday, September 13, 2012
'The idea for this series is about humor, beauty and repulsion. To me, long hair not only looks beautiful, but sometimes it can be very repulsive in particular settings such as hair in the hamburger, egg, wineglass, cigarette, toothpaste and sink. I combine hair and every day objects to evoke different feelings and emotions through a surrealistic approach.' Hong Chun Zhang

The Printer's Devil Collection

Erotica // Thursday, September 13, 2012
'This is the 21st Century. People are different, they are varied, they are a diverse crowd of individuals. People long to be unique. This is an increasingly postmodernist population who are not easily shocked and who not only tolerate edgy design but are enthralled by it. So with that in mind, this  series celebrates the alternative lifestyle. A mixture of decadence, individuality, beauty and hedonism. This is the first Printer's Devil collection. Enjoy!'

SPECIAL DELIVERY Bay Area 2012

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, September 12, 2012
Thousands turned out this past weekend to catch the Endless Canvas graffiti warehouse opening, Special Delivery Bay Area 2012, in Berkeley, California. The show was a follow up to last year's show of the same name in Portland, Oregon, and despite minimal coverage by any local press outlets (minus the morning news sighting graffiti "tags" spread around the neighborhood, something the building owner already said they would pay to clean up), the show turned out to be one of the most exciting art events in the East Bay in recent years.

Japanese Horror Manga Reviews

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, September 12, 2012
Foreign ghost movies about cell-phones, dead children and girls with uzis for hands aside, I've only recently engulfed myself in the literary insanity that is Japanese Horror Manga, so I'm not even going to bother pretending to sound like I know what I'm talking about in this article.

In L.A.: Giles Walker's The Last Supper Presented by Corey Helford Gallery

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, September 12, 2012
This past weekend we had the pleasure of viewing Giles Walker’s latest installation The Last Supper which is presented by Corey Helford in a temporary space in Culver City. The 20-foot long installation of fully operational robots performing his interpretation of the Last Supper of Christ. This is a stunning art piece to say the least and definitely something you have to experience for yourself. Photos and more after the jump…
