Hyperreal Nude Paintings by Omar Ortiz (NSFW)

Juxtapoz // Monday, May 28, 2012
These aren't quite NSFW, because they are too worth it to check out. Omar Ortiz creates amazingly photorealistic paintings of nude female subjects on large format canvas. The Mexico-born artist captures the minute details of the naked body, with focus on natural light, hair, muscles, and amazingly painted hands and feet.

Collage Art by Nicole Wermers

Juxtapoz // Monday, May 28, 2012
Collage has the capacity to alienate, estrange, and transform objets and images into something entirely unrecognizable and new, harkening back to the source, but compiling new associations and new contexts. Magazines are packed full of images that are strange, familiar, and numerous all at once.

We love the work of Clements, and her newly built website too!

Juxtapoz // Sunday, May 27, 2012
Most of us are of the age where Super Mario Bros is not just a video game but a definition of youth, so if someone is offering a Super Mario Bros cutting board for all our vegetable cutting, we are interested. And somehow, at $110, we may be in fact justified to be back in 1987.

The Work of Mark Dean Veca

Juxtapoz // Sunday, May 27, 2012
'Mark Dean Veca is a purveyor of prehistoric magic: creating space on a two-dimensional plane with a few lines of charcoal, ink or paint. He draws on paper, canvas or walls and uses simple black lines to manifest volume, space and depth. He shares his illusionary worlds and characters to express the internal and external tension of the human condition as he experiences it.
