(notes on) biology

Juxtapoz // Friday, January 04, 2013
I was never a good doodler. I tried, but mainly I made attempts at recreating the Stussy and Mossimo signature logos when any class that wasn't English or History. So I get the doodling during Biology class routine, but I was never this good. Created by Danny Madden, Will Madden, and Jonathan Silva of Ornana Films, this short (notes on) biology, won an animation award at last year's SXSW.

Playground slides that lead you to oncoming traffic, volleyball courts on the autobahn, skate ramp crosswalks, all situations that are going to lead you to some sort of disaster. Rickhoff is based in Germany, and works as an allaround creative.

Oil Paintings by Sascha Braunig

Juxtapoz // Friday, January 04, 2013
SASCHA BRAUNIG combines vibrant color and an hypnotic style in works that reflect upon illusion and the surface of the image. In dream-like scenes where repetition and patterning are foregrounded, Braunig's female subjects emit an extrasensory glow. Flaring with reflected color, they are iridescent beings whose very skin seems to be a source of psychic power. —Foxy Production

The Works of Sergio Albiac

Juxtapoz // Friday, January 04, 2013
I create visual imagery to articulate my thoughts about the beauty, contradictions and emotion of the act of living. My work revolves around the interior worlds we create in our minds and the tensions that arise when confronted to our realities. The illusion of control in a world much governed by randomness and the elusive nature of emotions are also recurring ideas in my work.
