Next time you find yourself out and about listening to music on your headphones- you might just be serving as inspiration for one of Yanni Floros' illustrations. Yanni is an Adelaide based artist who graduated with a degree in sculpture in 2004. He is interested in technology's influence on society which translates into the themes of his work.

Dave Kinsey For Obama 2012

In the 2008 Presidential Elections we saw how artists can have major impacts on the campaign trail to the White House. Dave Kinsey recently released a new image called UNITED in an effort to support President Obama's reelection campaign. Kinsey explains "I feel this is one of the most important votes U.S. citizens will ever make, ultimately affecting everything from our environment and social structure to worldwide issues (to name a few things)."

Mexico City-based artist, Minoz, who we documented last year as he was preparing a mural (with Meiz) has a new body of work about to open at FIFTY24MX in Mexico City, Espiralismo. Known mostly for street works, this is the first time that Minoz has shown in a gallery. The show opens on September 8, 2012.

Being released today, September 6, Shepard Fairey and Obey are releasing the Americana Box Set, featuring the album of the same name by Neil Young & Crazy Horse. The work in the box set initially made its debut at Perry Rubenstein Gallery. The Box Set includes 12 signed & numbered screen prints of the Americana Paintings (Edition of 450), 1 signed & numbered Americana song lyric screen print (Edition of 200), a certificate of authenticity, and a CD of the Americana album by Neil Young and Crazy Horse.

After seven years since 2x Juxtapoz cover artist Stephen Powers’ last solo exhibition in New York, Joshua Liner Gallery is pleased to present A Word is Worth a Thousand Pictures. In this new exhibition series, the prolific artist will present a panoramic assemblage of paintings that will occupy the entire breadth of the gallery. A Word is Worth a Thousand Pictures will consist of a multitude of enamel on aluminum paintings, ranging from 10-x-8 inches to 8-x-16 feet. The show opens tonight, September 6, 2012.
