Tensed-white, scraped against the ground, or smacked across your face--knuckles hinge the fingers to palms and facilitate the human rise to power. So why not draw all over 'em? Here's some knuckle tats we love.

Working primarily with resin, paper mache, and bronze, Spanish sculptor, Juan Muñoz, has shown extensively internationally (including the Guggenheim Museum in New York and Tate Modern in London) creating public and gallery work.  He broke many of the traditional rules of sculpting when he began creating work in a “narrative” manner, consisting of creating smaller than life-size figures in an atmosphere of mutual interaction.

London-based graffiti writer, Shok 1, makes most of his work look as if it has been x-rayed; maybe in an attempt to make sure the letter structure is not broken!   In his distinct spray-painting method, the artist recreated the recently passed StayHigh 149’s iconic smoking stick figure and it’s one of the best tributes we have seen so far.

After 1,669 comic strips for the acclaimed Life In Hell, Matt Groening is putting down his pen. At its height the comic strip was in hundreds of newspapers, but in recent years as papers cut back budgets and circulation, the strip is now in just 40 papers. The last strip was published on June 15, 2012.

From Isabel M. Martinez, creator of the photography series, Quantum Blink: "The photographs in Quantum Blink are composed of two exposures taken instants apart. The striped pattern is the result of masks placed in-camera, this feature allows me to blend two images together and at the same time keep them from fully fusing onto one another."

Pleasantly vibrating plasticine hues, wrinkling, sweating flesh, flying chicken drumsticks, dismembered body parts, and reoccurring patterns are some of the contests within Kyle Platts illustrations that make up his world of disgusting, enthralling, hyper-detailed comic-style drawings.

This isn't the first time we have posted about Jason Freeny and his dissection of pop-culture toys (see Care Bears), but we have to hand it to him on these giant LEGO men that he has sculpted and, of course, dissected. Nothing says Thursday morning blues like seeing the hypothetical guts of your favorite children's toys.

Charlotte Mann is a British artist known for her wall drawings and drawn room installations. These densely detailed 1:1 scale drawings of rooms in rooms are invariably made with thick black marker pen on a white ground. Her work is mainly made to commission, recent works have included large pieces in Milan and Basel.
