An Update with Aris

Street Art // Saturday, August 24, 2013
The simplistic abstract formation paintings of Italian artist, Aris, are unique in comparison to the majority of current work being created in the streets. Occasionally, if you examine the piece well, you can distinguish figures and natural elements present in the abstractions. The artist has updated his Flickr with a number of new works on walls and trains, and we have them here for your viewing pleasure.

Design Works from Stéphane Massa-Bidal

Juxtapoz // Friday, August 23, 2013
One of the best bio descriptions we have read in a while: "Artist, hair icon, art director, cook, graphic designer, frenchie, Illustrator, dad, genius brain owner, tech digest, curator, co-owner The Contrepétographes." And then graphic designer Stéphane Massa-Bidal throws in this great quote from Larry Niven to complete the feeling: "The Dinosaurs Became extinct Because They Did not Have a space program." Well, then, that makes sense.

Well, obviously KAWS has big things in store this weekend at the MTV Video Music Awards, airing this Sunday, August 25 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. We knew he had redesigned the iconic Moonman statue for the award show, and because we like to scour Instagram, we have seen a 60' foot KAWS designed Moonman that will be right in the heart of the Barclays Center during the show. But now we see some updates regarding the great Todd "REAS" James, some bears, and Miley Cyrus. We may actually watch this one.

Wayne White, June 2012

Vault // Friday, August 23, 2013
Wayne White is a little bit of everything: illustrator, musician, art director, apparently a puppeteer... you know, all those things that make one an artist. You may know him for his art direction of Pee-Wee's Playhouse, or perhaps for his fast becoming signature text over landscape reproduction works that have been part of an amazing monograph edited by Todd Oldham.
