The surreal landscape of Lapland, Finland documented by Niccolo Bonfadini

Street Art // Friday, January 17, 2014
Lapland, Finland just moved to the top of our list for places to visit in the near future. Not only because these photos by Italy-based photographer, Niccoló Bonfadini, made are jaw instantly drop and we want to see this in person, but also because you can witness the aurora borealis as well in Lapland. Two unique one-of-a-kind experiences wrapped in one location. We’re there!  Now this isn’t street art, but this is “natural art” in an outside setting and we are sharing it because street art news is slow today. These trees remind of the underground creatures from the movie Tremors or the ones from Beetlejuice, but with a puffy cloud encasing on them. Amazing.

Drawings by Mathew Borrett: Room Series

Juxtapoz // Friday, January 17, 2014
Mathew Borrett's "Room Series" is very reminiscent of M. C. Escher's drawings of impossible, mind-bending architectural spaces. Borrett's drawings creating outlandish, strangely displaced structures forming a dream-driven world of nightmares and fantasies that have an array of details to draw you in and out of the various rooms, exploring their relationships and potential narratives.
