Our friend in Denmark, Henrik Haven went to check in and see the progress... and it was raining. And still, progress was made...

video: Sign Painters preview

Graffiti // Monday, November 04, 2013
Last year, one of the most engaging and beautifully designed books to be released hands down was “Sign Painters.” This book created by Faythe Levine and Sam Macon, documents the traditional craft of hand-lettered sign paintingthrough photographs and interviews with older and emerging practitioners from across the U.S. Not only was a book created, but a movie as well and it has been previewing in various locations. We haven’t yet had the opportunity to see it for ourselves, but Nowness has put up a nice eight-minute preview that has us excited once again to see it.

Paintings by Istvan Nyari

Juxtapoz // Monday, November 04, 2013
This morning we take a look at the bizarre, surreal paintings of Budapest and London-based artist Istvan Nyari. In his work, Nyari always searches for topics and situations that could happen in real life but for whatever reason they don't or calling to life lifeless subjects such as puppets.

Newsprint Paintings by Gabriel Vormstein

Juxtapoz // Monday, November 04, 2013
Berlin-based artist Gabriel Vormstein draws and paints on sheets of newsprint, of mostly four newspaper double-spreads glued together. His effortless watercolor sketches appear minimal but are rich in detail. The female figure is central to his work, often appropriating them from their original source whether it be Egon Schiele, Modigliani, or others…

And, we just saw, there is a music video... enjoy some Sunday tunes...
