Juxtapoz // Tuesday, December 17, 2013
Yes, these live on planet Earth. And yes, they can see you. Sometimes, the things that live amongst us are just plain art, and Shikhei Goh's photographs of insects eyes are some of the most alien and breathtaking things you will see all week on this site. Goh calls himself a "macro addict," and lives and works on Batam Island.

Best of 2013: Beach House "Wishes" dir by Eric Wareheim

Music // Monday, December 16, 2013
Even though their stellar album, "Devotion," was released in 2012, Beach House and director Eric Wareheim created one of the great music videos of 2013 for the track "Wishes." Yes, that Eric. As in Tim & Eric. So you know the video was going to be slightly twisted, funny, and good. And it features Leland Palmer from Twin Peaks riding a horse with fireworks. Well then...

IN L.A.: The Seventh Letter Flagship Store Opening

Juxtapoz // Monday, December 16, 2013
The Seventh Letter’s flagship store and gallery opened last week, we stopped by the grand opening and it was quite the event. As you may know from our past with the Seventh Letter crew and brand, we had an entire issue dedicated to them in July 2007, and have extensively covered exhibitions at Known Gallery in LA over the years. That said, this store is long, long overdue, and we are so happy they got the flagship up and running!!! Hope you enjoy the photos.

Sculptures by Ishibashi Yui

Juxtapoz // Monday, December 16, 2013
Tokyo-based artist Ishibashi Yui's sculptures are unsettling and beautiful. Her figures seem to have submitted to the plants and branches protruding and growing from their bodies, as if they have accepted their fate and are not sure if they even have the ability to fight or prevent the inevitable.

Susanna Majuri's Underwater Worlds

Juxtapoz // Monday, December 16, 2013
Photographer Susanna Majuri builds mythical underwater environments and then photographs female models swimming in, above, and through them. "The water is most remarkable," Susanna says. "It carries bodies. Water is color. The shimmer and the deep green. My challenge is to see the reality in a non-traditional light. When I am shooting pictures, I have a premonition that something strange is about to happen."

Humberto Casas Junca's School Desk Drawings

Juxtapoz // Monday, December 16, 2013
