Tauba Auerbach "The New Ambidextrous Universe" @ ICA, London

The ICA is delighted to present The New Ambidextrous Universe, the first solo exhibition in the UK by American artist Tauba Auerbach. Auerbach’s ICA show will feature newly created sculptures and photography works which take as their starting point the scientific principles of symmetry and reflection as a means to hint at an alternate, mirror universe.

Photographer Mike Rebholz’s series “10 Weeks”is a photographic survey documenting the ice huts constructed by the fisherman and the camaraderie that forms from being in such close quarters. Rebholz photographed throughout the 10-week ice fishing season in Wisconsin using the dramatic icy landscape to create intriguing photographs of these unique structures and provide a closer look into this winter tradition.

We checked it out, and through the throngs of friends and followers, enjoyed the packed house.

Another great show that opened in NYC during Armory week: PMM Art Projects announces a special pop-up exhibition of New York- based artist, Logan Hicks, featuring nautical-based stencil paintings as well as photographs from his infamous urban explorations. On view at 154 Stanton Street (Lower East Side, New York) through March 19, 2014, Love Never Saved Anything is Logan’s second solo show with PMM Art Projects and his most ambitious work to date.

As you have probably noticed by now, Juxtapoz has teamed up with Converse to bring some of our favorite artists to Austin during 2014 SXSW to create installations, performances, and interactive art around the city. Dennis McNett who you may know by the Wolfbat moniker, has been building a ship outside the Yellow Jacket Social Club all week preparing for a Wolfbat happening like none other taking place Saturday, March 15th at 10:15pm. All are welcome to come by, build masks, axes, help, and participate!
