from DAY 3 of COACHELLA desert madness
Sunday April 18, 2010

If anyone survived last night, they have plenty of stories and surely have not showered.  THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE HERE.  Honestly, I've never seen Coachella like this before.  And, the shows raged yesterday...the highlights of my day included the hysterical one man show with John Waters, Faith No More, and Muse. Awesome art is everywhere and the good stuff comes out at night.  The "Cubatron L5" is a trippy opto-kinetic sculpture created by Marc Lottor.  It's built out as a huge 3D display of over 5000 color-changing LED lights.  The "Hurakan" is a 40 foot tall inferno of fire that blazes up a giant tube that can be seen from across the venue.  It's the largest contained flame vortex ever created; made by Syd Klinge and John Taylor.  "Successful House Plants," 30 foot tall steel polyp plants dot the grass area beside the large tents too

Today's lineup is the best, though...I'm trying to hold it together to get me some Yo La Tengo, De La Soul, Thom Yorke & friends, Pavement, Spoon, and the Gorillaz!  I think it's absolutely crazy as I type it all in...
