Porous Walker really likes art. He tries to make his own all of the time. I enjoy working outside and at night the most.

Brad K. Alder sent me an email reminding me of my participation in Sketch Tuesdays at 111 Minna Gallery tonight from 6-10PM.   Fellow Juxtapoz contributor Jay Howell and Ruthie(who I believe is the co-star of 'Rocky Tits') will be the evenings DJs.

The list of artists participating is a bit intimidating to a technically unsavvy drawer as myself, but I'm excited.  Among the artists participating is Damon Soule When I first moved to California in 1998, I hadn't yet started to Art the crap out of my life, and I stumbled into a gallery south of Market st. whose name escapes me, where I encounter some works from Damon Soule.  I paid $40 for a piece(pictured below) and had it hanging in my studios in plain views over the years and it inspired me to use a certain color paper for my own drawings.

I had possession of the piece until early 2007 when Sketch Tuesdays founder, Sacha Eckes asked me to take part in a Art Show at Receiver GalleryIsaac Mckay-Randozzi and I installed a dense wall collage consisting of several of my drawings and most of the most influential pieces in my studio at the time.  I offered everything within the collage for free, and someone grabbed the Damon Soule piece that had helped inspire me.

The first time I saw Ana Serrano's artwork was a photo on ffffound! of her Cartonlandia. It completely floored me. When I investigated further, her work made me very happy. Immediately I felt the happiness that I had felt when I spent time in Belize and Guatemala building resorts, the colors of the houses, the handmade signs, the smell, the warm air, the positives, all came back to me just by seeing pictures of her work on the internet.

If you don't know Ana's stunning work yet, please take a look for yourself.

Ana Serrano, this round little bottle washed up on your front yard and you uncorked it releasing a genie inside who grants you 3 wishes, please wish them below:

1. i wish there were a machine i could step in and poof! it would take me to the country of my choice instantly,
that way i could still live in la but then i'd be able to go to brazil for the weekend or have lunch in peru...
2. i wish household chores didn't exist, everything would just clean itself.
3. i wish i had a little camera built into my glasses.
