AirPort: An Open-Air Installation by Electroboutique

Current

Wednesday February 01, 2012

In 2009, Russian collective, Electroboutique created the public, open-air installation, AirPort, placing a departure flight kiosk in the middle of a forest. As the collective notes, the piece was a "poetic reflection on the possible ways of the urban civilization development. We are facing a choice: whether we should further sink our ferroconcrete teeth of architecture and transport system into the nature's body; or should we try to minimize our impact on it." Looks rather utopian to us.

Tuesday January 31, 2012

We were looking through the Oscar-nominated animated short films this morning, and came across this great one, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr Morris Lessmore. We were caught by it because it was inspired by Hurricane Katrina, Buster Keaton, The Wizard of Oz, and a love for books. That is a lot of interesting inspirations.
