Today and tomorrow (December 9th & 10th) is the last stop for Sanrio’s Small Gift Mobile Pop-Up Tour, with the stop being in the worlds' headquarters of New York City. The mobile pop-up shop is filled with limited-edition 50th Anniversary Merchandise, and if we remember from when we were young lads and ladesses, anything Sanrio was Holiday heaven. To this day, the Jeremy Fish x Aesop Rock cover of Juxtapoz from December 2006 remains one of our most successful. And Aesop has contributed to the magazine in the past, with some great interviews, one being Tomer Hanuka. We just saw this performance Aesop gave at the ZeroFriends pop-up store in SF, when Alex Pardee and Co decided it would be a good idea to have a concert in a space no bigger than a closet. There is a lot to learn if you spend about an hour on Purple Magazine's Purple Diary blog. We are fans of the magazine itself, as it sort of sums up an artistic, fashionable lifestyle that few lead (if any lead but Mr. Purple, Olivier Zahm) each quarter of the year. People collect and try to get back issues of Purple like fanatics. On said Diary, we saw this Franz West sculpture with Dan Colen drawings from Basel that we found of note.

Mac, a past Juxtapoz cover and recent interviewer of Kofie One for our October 2010 issue, just finished this mural in Campeche, Mexico for the Seres Queridos project. This particular portrait is of Manuel Lee Chang, known locally as "el Chino"(despite the fact that he's of Korean descent) with his Guacamaya (Macaw). More information after the jump . . .
We are in the midst of preparing a fantastic Michael Leon feature for the magazine, the type of interview that you will really enjoy, and Mr. Leon and CR Stecyk III mention this video that Michael had done in conjunction with his show at Project Space earlier in 2010. It was to do with process, and shooting a paintball gun at his artwork. Watch after the jump . . . .
