We have been fascinated by mini sculptures after we visited Tracey Snelling's wonderful exhibit at Rena Branstein in San Francisco earlier this year. Now we find Alan Wolfson's fantastic miniature sculptures of urban spaces, where lighting, magazine racks, dressing rooms, and bar stools are considered. Some of his miniature pieces take over 18 months to complete . . .

REVOK Arrested at LAX for Failing to Pay Restitution (Update: REVOK Sentenced to 180 Days in Jail)

One of the leading graffiti artists in the world, REVOK, was arrested as he prepared to board a plane to Ireland at Los Angeles International Airport this past weekend. The LA Times is reporting that Revok was taken into custody for an "outstanding arrest warrant for failing to pay restitution." He is being held at Los Angeles County Jail in lieu of $320,000 bail. . .  (UPDATE AFTER JUMP).

Mark Mulroney's Grandma as a Book

NY-based artist Mark Mulroney has a grandma that he is very fond of, so much so that he created a book about her through fashion brand, Shipley & Halmos. When Mulroney's grandma worked in San Diego, she operated a "camera that took the photos for the I.D. cards, which certified seniors as old enough to receive discounts on public transit, movie tickets, and breakfast at Denny’s." Just to put that into perspective, as you are wondering why that is so impressive, the paper Audi sits at 4 ft x 2 ft x 2, taking 245 hours and 285 pages to create the 750 inside parts.
