French artist Turf One, né Jean Labourdette, is a Jacques of all trades. Spawning from a love affair of graffiti during his youth in Paris, Turf One has moved on to work as an illustrator, comic strip artist, filmmaker and painter.
Neck Face will turn Miami inside out in his premiere solo exhibition this Halloween night. The artist will deconstruct all 10,000 square feet of O.H.W.O.W. and build a world complete his own, including a haunted house installation, designed to frighten viewers as they enter the space.
“In our last little bit of time together, a few weeks back (click to check that post), I was going on an on about how important of a step it was to take things slowly,” writes Nathan Spoor. “Now, I've usually looked at all the works as one long continuum that really didn't need that much processing. But now, I'm looking at the work differently.”
Get up close and personal with illustrator Nate Van Dyke (Juxtapoz #90) in this detailed studio visit where we get to watch Nate work on one of his signature monkey drawings.
This is true craftsmanship: Juxtapoz founder Robert Williams (current Juxtapoz cover #106) got together with Vans Vault to create some of the most amazing shoes you will ever lay eyes upon. Taking the term ‘limited edition’ to an entirely new level, Robert hand painted a massive canvas, took it to China, and had only 13 pairs of a Vans shoe made. See the process in a great video now.
