Waone of Interesni Kazki in India
Waone who makes up one half of the muralist powerhouse, Interenki Kazki was recently traveling through India and painted the following two murals. Both touching on different themes, they are titled “Theyyam" and "Nest"\Thallu Vandi." Remember, Interesni Kazki is featured in a 12-page interview in the new February 2012 issue of Juxtapoz, on newsstands now.
Tellas for Nuart 2011 Video
One of our favorite newcomers we met at Nuart this past Fall was Italian artist Tellas, who put together a beautiful multi-storied mural and intricate installation piece in Stavanger. All we can say about Tellas is watch out for him, because there is already a clear vision and style coming from this young artist.

Alex Gross: Victorian Era to Sci-Fi
Alex Gross, who will be showing at Jonathan LeVine next month (and who provided Juxtapoz with one of the best protraits in recent memory for his feature last year), completed a series of transforming Victorian era cabinet cards into modern day science fiction super-heroes and pop icons.

Collage Portraits by Sam Falconer
Pop imagery has undoubtedly been overused and, in many instances, used poorly. However, when done right, it always has a recognizable charm that is undeniably pleasing. Sam Falconer, a freelance illustrator based in the UK, has succeeded in collaging the iconic faces of several celebrities that feels timeless and fresh with just a touch of quirkiness.

Xu Bing: 550,000 “First Class” Brand Cigarettes Rug
With over half a million cigarettes (550,000 to be exact) and weighing 440 pounds, Xu Bing has created a tiger-skin rug as a reflection of global trade and the seduction of such a deadly product. The rug was on exhibit at the Virginia Museum of Fine Art this past December.

Tattoos by Tim Lehi
We were looking through the new Bloodwork Bodies book in our office today, and saw great work of wildly accredited and talented San Francisco-based tattoo artist, Tim Lehi. Stationed at Black Heart Tattoo, we know there is a very long waiting list to get the services of Mr. Lehi. It will be worth it.

In L.A.: LeBasse Projects Group Exhibition
We stopped by LeBasse Projects in Culver City to check out their current group exhibition which showcases artwork form some of their artists that will be exhibiting this year, including works from Herakut, Mike Stilkey, Joshua Petker, Seonna Hong, Jim Houser, Tobias Keene, Katrin Fridriks, Nate Frizzell, Yoskay Yamamoto, Andrew Hem, Matt Haber and Melissa Haslam.
