Runway event and Medusa
Wednesday July 15, 2009

I mentioned in my last post that I recently collaborated with designer Jared Gold on a clothing line for women.  It's hard to explain how amazing the clothes he created are. I'm not talking about a shirt with a graphic I'm talking skirts, leggings, and full couture pieces. The line and the event are really Jared's amazing visions with my paintings serving as the base inspiration for the pieces. It's pretty cool to see one of your paintings on an evening gown. I can't post images of the clothing until after his runway event premiering the clothing taking place at the end of the month.

Liz McGrath is hosting (among others) and Tim Biskup is djing (among others) and I feel really lucky and excited to be working with so many crazy talented people on something so artistic even though there will be no physical paintings at the show. If you're in LA and want to witness this amazing event please come.

So, when I'm not painting for my upcoming show or working on a project like this that relates to painting than I am usually checking out bars/restaurants around town or whatever.  This past weekend I tried a weird gothic tavern that turned into a 60s Mod hang out once the night progressed.  It's called the Medusa Lounge in Silver Lake and the inside interior was off the hook rad. Check it:

Sunday night I went and saw some of my old friends from Olympia, WA, the band Wolves in the Throne Room with my pal Matt Bone. Here are Matt and I with the band, my friends Aaron and Nathan Weaver:

Today I had my second session with amazing artist Shawn Barber tattooing a portrait on my leg. I'm not allowed to show it until it's done. But, here's the master artist and my leg:

And, this photo is just dope.

The end.
