Dear Juztapoz,

Caught this little gem as I was doing a flyby, couldn't help myself. I love it, only I'm a bit concerned about my dogs ability to comprehend what he sees, he may think its dooky-time. I suppose the obvious nightstand would be a Bay Guardian covered with my favorite tags.

This is a short story of a girl and her Halloween costume.

She was anxious to find her costume. Halloween was 2 shrinking days away. Around her were circular racks overweight with clothing filling a thrift-store as people both alone and in packs sauntered in and dispersed to the corners. Holding her breath and listening she could hear a steady music-bed of mumbling people and the felted whisper of shirts and pants and coats being plucked and examined. She could hear her dad talking about shoes and how much better it was to buy shoes for a 9 year old here rather than the mall.

George Brett qualifies as a childhood hero of mine. To understand this you have to know that I grew up in Billings Montana. Which is the most populated city in Montana at about 89,847, and that by all degrees makes it the metropolis of the high prairie. That's a distinction few cities can hold. As a kid in Billings I remember being taken to AAA baseball games, as Billings was the rookie league for the Kansas City Royals. George Brett was the king of the Royals. Still is.

George may qualify as the first person I saw other people revere, they talked about "when George was here..." and how he "changed the game". And then they got me a Mountain Dew.

My memories about George were set in stone. Until this was made.

WalrusTV just posted this Doze Green video. In 3 minutes and 56 seconds he turned me into a vampire, held me to the sun, reduced me to ashes, gathered my remains and built me back up again. His is a story of courage more than anything else. His bravery is the magnet. His art, his poles.
