Isaac is a photographer and writer who really loves to take photos, write stories, do interviews and have a fun time doing it. As a young lad he met Dizzy Gillespie and nearly crapped himself. Over the years, his photography and words have appeared in a handful of publications, including +1 Magazine (England), Hamburger Eyes Magazine, Juxtapoz Magazine, Slap Magazine, The Skateboard Mag., Color Magazine (Canada), STAF Magazine (Spain) and Thrasher Magazine, among others. Aside from print and pixel, recently his photos have appeared on Stereo Skateboards Artist Edition Series and tee shirts. One of 3 non-team riders to have their photography featured over their 17 year history. He also served as a curator for a few art shows in the U.S. and one in Canada. I stopped by the DWNTWN skate shop to check out Travis and Derek's photos.

Both photographers have shot a variety of subjects and in a city like S.F. variety is the operative word.

Porous Walker and Jerry Ilkenhons have a show opening tonight at Lower Haters, I helped set up one of Porous' sections and shot the following photos. Should be a great show, Jerry said he's making a Itunes play list with, "a fucking shit load of Morrisey!"

Photographer, designer and dude Andy Muller is having a solo show featuring his photography. Bout time is all that I can say. He's been killing it on many fronts for a long time and this is the first time I can recall that he has had a solo show. Maybe he believes in not spreading himself too thin? Or, it's because he's been too busy working and raising a family? Either way I'm happy to see him get some of the recognition that he so well deserves.

Travis Jensen is a writer and photographer based out of S.F. Like many others he was attracted to the city for its skate scene and the mythos that surrounds it. In the following interview you'll read why he has stayed and thrived in this city while so many others have used it as a migratory weigh point. His is a tale is almost the classic "American experience", coming up from next to nothing and going on to achieve things that others never could. Self made with a steely resolve and work ethic Travis has done things on his terms. As a writer for magazines like Vapors, Spain's STAF and our own SLAP his journalistic prowess is one that caught the eye of the daily newspaper, the S.F. Chronicle. Moonlighting for them on top of his day-to-day job, he wrote a weekly column and multiple articles.

Recently, he became bitten by the photo-bug, bitten may not be the right word - mauled is more fitting. Now he spends his free time split between raising a new son, working on his novel and shooting hundreds of photos a month.  With a healthy respect and understanding of both digital and analog film Travis' photos of San Francisco show his side of the city. Unapologetic, beautiful and intriguing  in every way.
