Film Pick: Carts of Darkness
Wednesday March 03, 2010 |
![]() Everyone has a story to tell and every story has its place. For some the story told is heard by a couple of down and outs under a bridge or beside a dumpster. Either way every story deserves its day. Murray Siple an ex-action sports filmmaker gives us a brief look into the lives of the outlaw can collectors in North Vancouver. Carts of Darkness is a look into the extreme sport of can collecting. These guys live on the streets and play on the streets. Bombing hills at 50+ miles an hour while riding shopping carts loaded with cans and bottles, their prize is cashing their collections and buying a bottle. Their passion for the drink and downhilling is what drives these men in their quest for speed.
Grab yourself a six pack and watch Murray Siple’s Carts of Darkness.
Next time you hear the can collectors outside your window in the wee mornings remember, they work just as hard as you but carry bigger balls.
