Digital Art by Jean-Philippe Bretin

August 31, 2012

In the digital age of today, there is no discounting digital painting. David Hockney has even done an entire museum show surrounding the concept of drawing on iPads, which is obviously not the same as a beautiful work on canvas or paper, but it is certainly something that is part of the present. Here we have Jean-Philippe Bretin's strange, abstract oddities that have been painted with digital technology as seen on his flickr page. These indeterminate, amorphous forms border upon figurative shapes while also simply existing as peculiar and abstract blobs of blending and bleeding color painted in the digital realm.
