We went to see a special presentation of Francis Ford Coppola's newest feature film, TWIXT, recently in Napa County, California. Coppola, director of The Godfather and Apocalypse Now, wrote, produced, financed, and directed the film with a small team in Northern California, and now the art department for the film will be rebuilding sets from TWIXT at San Francisco's FIFTY24SF Gallery in the exhibition, Twixt sc. 83.

There was mixed reviews of the movie Drive in our office (lots of people loved it, others were a bit down on it), but we really enjoyed seeing this animated tribute to the Ryan Gosling-starring feature film by the duo of Tom Haugomat and Bruno Mangyoku. As we get to the close of 2011, nice to look back on some of the films that got people talking.

A lot of us on the Juxtapoz staff were excited about The Dark Knight Rises trailer, but now the talk of the office is whether Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is going to make the grade. People get very emotional and defensive with the J.R.R. Tolkien titles, but its not like Jackson takes the task lightly.
