This new series of paintings depict a world in turmoil, thrown into disarray by whirling forces that wreak havoc and destruction. Such chaos levels differences, and the most improbable combinations now not only appear possible, but actually generate a new kind of meaning and aesthetic. It is first and foremost a statement of style, a style that contaminates illustration and comic, videogame and classic drawing, mannerism and Flemish detail.—Nicola Verlato
