Juxtapoz 15th Aniversary Art Auction: Matthew Barney

Juxtapoz is pleased to announce the addition of world-renowned contemporary artist Matthew Barney to The Big Payback Juxtapoz 15th Anniversary Art Auction to benefit Power House Project of Detroit.

American artist Matthew Barney works in a variety of mediums, including sculpture, photography, drawing, and film. His early works were sculptural installations combined with performance and video. Between 1994 and 2002 he created the Cremaster Cycle, a series of five feature-length films described by Jonathan Jones in The Guardian as "one of the most imaginative and brilliant achievements in the history of avant-garde cinema."

Barney has exhibited at San Francisco MoMA, The Guggenheim, and Tate Modern, among other international institutions.

Matthew Barney is donating Drawing Restraint 9: Toya, 2006. C-print in self-lubricating plastic frame. 26 x 22 x 1-1/4 inches (66 x 55.9 x 3.2 cm). Edition of 25 + 5 AP.
