The bros, Don and Ryan Clark, take their creative grasp beyond illustrating by performing in their own musical concotion: the metalcore band Demon Hunter. Receiving their 4th Grammy nomination in 2008 for their design work on the Hawk Nelson Is My Friend Album, these dudes are seriously accomplished.
We were lucky enough to garner responses by both of the Clark men for our Back Talk feature. Read on to discover a little more about the men behind the posters.
Don: Amazing. Better than I have in years.
If you could wake up in a different place tomorrow morning, where would it be and what would you do?
Don: I’d like to wake up in 1951 and attempt to explain the iPhone to people. And see my parents as infants.
If you lost your creative skill, how would you see yourself making a living?
Don: I’d probably just end up being a clown for hire.
Don: Thomas Kinkade.
Was your first kiss worth writing a song about?
Don: No way.
Don: When I met my wife almost 12 years ago.
No regrets allowed, but there must have been one?
Don: Most of my high school years was one giant regret.
Don: For the most part, they are all extremely hard-working and dedicated to their craft. They inspire me in various ways.
If you had to evacuate your home or studio, what's the one thing you would grab?
Don: Home: My hard drive full of family photos. Studio: My hard drive full of work.
Don: My wife and 2 children.
What is your favorite vice?
Don: Books and/or furniture. And ice cream.
Don: More presents.
Don: Bruce Wayne
Do you ever lie?
Don: No. Wait, that’s a lie. Yes.
Don: We usually design for a pretty specific audience. The audience may be different for each project, but it’s usually pretty specific. I’d like to give the viewers the benefit of the doubt.
What virtue can you do without?
Don: I’m not the most compassionate person, but I’m working on it.
Don: Depends on where I am. If I’m at work, no.
What has been your proudest moment?
Don: The birth of my children.
Don: Who I was as a husband and father. My contribution to the art world would be second.
How would you prefer to die?
Don: In my sleep, after I’ve said goodnight and “I love you” to my family. Related Articles
