The work of Scott Hove and Cakeland are full of seduction and temptation through the sweet, icing glazed mouths, stilettos atop tauntingly gorgeous cakes. We're kicking it old school this Wednesday morning with Raoul Ubac (b. 1910 - d. 1985), an experimental Belgian photographer, painter, and sculptor. Ubac decided to abandon his career as a forester to pursue art in Paris in 1929, and under the influence of the likes of André Breton and Man Ray, he dedicated himself to surreal photography until 1945, by which time his interest in surrealism had waned in favor of painting instead.
You can always depend on world-renowned Dutch fashion photographer duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin for some stunning minimalist photography. The highly accomplished artistic team are well known for crafting gorgeous images for fashion magazines and advertising campaigns, and are equally celebrated for their independent art work, showing frequently in gallery exhibitions across the globe.
