Norway’s version of the HVW8 crew is known as the DO IT! collective, originally begun in Aberdeen, Scotland in 2008 as an audio visual project by graphic designer Alexander Horne (DJ Uraki Riddim) and visual artist Jon Reid (MOC). Inspired by living in Barcelona for two years amidst some of Europe's best street artists and a do it yourself ethic which, combined live beats, graff and visuals, Horne aimed at kick starting a similar culture in collaboration with Reid. The collective now includes artist, designers, and musicians from several different countries, while in 2008 they traveled to Barcelona, Helsinki, and Bergen to perform. This year DO IT! started bi- monthly events in Oslo with Horne and French designer VJ Pop Com, featuring special guests from around Norway and beyond. Most nights include DJs, live acts and/or bands, and VJs. In mid-March in Olso, Norway, an amendment to the regular format came in the form of live illustration from a promising young Norwegian crew of illustrators called Cupofill. Music was provided by DJs Uraki Riddim, Bitch Boys, and a live set by Leif, while Cupofill painted to the flow of the music. Photos by Arne Langleite
