World-renowned DJ Z-Trip has been crowned "America's Best DJ" by DJ Times' fourth annual fan-driven poll of the best US-based DJs. After DJing our Seventh Letter issue release party a bit ago, we wholeheartedly agree and always look out for this DJ on the turntables.

The mix master took top honors, triumphing over 100 DJs including such notables as DJ Shadow, Girl Talk and A-Trak. Z-Trip will claim his prestigious title at the official closing party on September 12 in Las Vegas at Rain Nightclub at the Palms Casino Resort. 

The veteran DJ, who has been manning the decks for over a decade, is thrilled with this accolade and not taking it lightly. "It's an honor to be ranked number one by the people, especially considering all the incredible talent out there these days," offers Z-Trip about his victory.

The "godfather of the mashup," as he is widely regarded, will be demonstrating his jaw-dropping style and ingenious mixes this fall on tour. Worldwide tour dates will be announced shortly.

As previously announced, the superstar DJ will make his avatar in-game debut in the highly-anticipated DJ Hero™ video game later this year, which he also contributed three exclusive tracks to. Z-Trip will be an actual playable character, allowing gamers the unique opportunity to mimic his celebrated one-of-a-kind style.
