The Spore Project
Friday February 12, 2010 |
![]() Floridian artist Doug Rhodehamel is leading the charge for a countrywide landscaping overhaul by encouraging all to create shrooms from trash and deposit them around the globe. ![]() ![]() In May, Doug is calling for a mass mushroom-creating movement. Creating mushrooms from paper bags is easy, as Doug explains on his website (here), but you probably get the gist of how to make them by just looking at a completed 'shroom. ![]() The plan is then to plant these babies anywhere and everywhere. He has already initiated installations of this type all over the world, but he hopes to make this one in May the largest art installation in the world. After the mass plantings, participants will take pictures and send them to Doug.
The Spore Project, as it is called, encourages community participation and art education. Juxtapoz interviewed Doug back in July, which you can read here.
