Souther Salazar on Metamorphosis, Apple Jacks, and The Key to Balance

![]() It’s been a while since we’ve caught up with Souther Salazar (Juxtapoz #89). The LA-based artist has shifted slightly out of the main limelight, but he continues to fashion his colorful and whimsical watercolor pieces as well as new zines and comics. His latest explore themes of “metamorphosis, apple jacks, and the key to balance.” His newest exhibited works (shown below) see Salazar offering viewers his trademark style, full of animals, foliage, and shelters that look like a hobbit home.
