Sam Weber
Tuesday December 11, 2007

We could've sworn that we mentioned Sam Weber before, but we couldn't find the post so maybe it was all just a dream. We probably found his portfolio through super-talented Jillian Tamaki's page. Sam was originally an American, then a Canadian for the College of Art and Design in Calgary, and then an American again for New York's School of Visual Arts. A lot of you New Yorkers have probably heard of Sam from when he was assistant art director of the Times Op Ed page. Heard of him or not, you need to pay attention now because he's updated his site with new work, personal and commercial, that kicked our art cortex's ass. His style is quiet and delicate, similar to James Jean, and in fact, we're wondering why the two of them haven't had a painter's duel or something. If that's not a real thing, it should be, like a breakdance battle with paint. Whether he takes it to the mean streets or not, you should definitely scope Weber's work at www.sampaints.com.
