"Metamorphosis" by Angelique Price
Tuesday April 15, 2008

Our friend and amazing artist, Angelique Price, is quite handy with good ol’ Prismacolor and Bic markers. She recently put her talent to work, creating Metamorphosis, a beautiful portrait of Barack Obama with one of his quotes in mind: "I am in this race to tell the corporate lobbyists that their days of setting the agenda in Washington are over. I have done more than any candidate in this race to take on lobbyists- and won. They have not funded my campaign, they will not get a job in my White House, and they will not drown out the voices of the American People when I am president." Word.
As the entire political arena and fight for presidency intensifies, wonderfully creative political artwork has been emerging from all reaches of the globe, reminding us that every person’s opinion, and vote, matters. Price reminds us: "Vote 2008, and research who you are voting for. Know what it is you are creating with your vote. Bush's reign has been destructive and reflective of America's ignorance and apathy. Choose wisely. Choose honestly. America needs healing."
If you just can’t get enough of this 9”x12” drawing, you’re in luck because Price has standard prints available at eliq.deviantart.com; for special limited edition prints, feel free to e-mail eliqart@gmail.com.
