No Joke: The Apple iPad is here

 Yes, it’s really here. The Apple iPad has arrived in all its Apple glory. Basically, the iPad is a beautiful marriage of an iPhone and a media-capable computer, served in a thin tablet form. This skinny babe has quite a bit going for it: a large, high-resolution LED-backlit, IPS display, web browsing, email via on screen keyboard, photo browsing, iTunes music playback and purchasing (movies, tv shows, podcasts, all apps, games etc), and scales up existing iPhone apps or runs them in small windows. 9.7 inch diagonal touchscreen, speaker, microphone, dock connector, wireless 802.11n wifi, Bluetooth.
Perhaps our favorite feature (we are design nerds around here, after all) is the crisp high-resolution, 9.7 inch LED-backlit, IPS display.
“It’s also been designed to work in any orientation — portrait or landscape,” boasts Apple. “And because it uses a display technology called IPS (in-plane switching), it has a wide, 178° viewing angle. So you can hold it almost any way you want, and still get a brilliant picture, with excellent color and contrast.”
