New Work from Mulheres Barbadas aka the Bearded Ladies

 Brazilian art duo Mulheres Barbadas, aka the Bearded Ladies, have recently updated their website with all new works. Their style is deceptively simple, consistently utilizing black and white, but with an integral understanding of space and relation. We fist met the pair while in Sao Paulo as they were setting up their installation at the Museum of Image and Sound for the impressive exhibit, NOVA. Later, Flavio Samelo came along and added his own touches to their work there, playing off their monochromatic drawings in adding sharper painting in the same palate.
Mulheres Barbadas were born and remain based in Sao Paulo. Aside from taking new artworks, the pair also has a wealth of video footage to accompany almost every piece.
