The phrase ‘one man’s trash is another man’s treasure’ rings exceedingly true for artist Misha Hollenbach in his solo show Indispensable Duties, now up at Melbourne’s Y3K. Pushing social boundaries throught the conduit of…well, junk, Hollenbach forces us to reconsider what’s useful, appropriate, and beautiful.

One-half of fashion label P.A.M., Hollenbach has collected everyday objects, such as table legs, pink yoga balls, and televisions, to critique our current state of emotional, sexual, and social goings on. The startling formations beg us to wonder about one’s Indispensable Duties.
