Looking at Meredith Dittmar’s clay sculptures is like entering an entirely new world. Dittmar is able to do things with polymer that often more closely resembles digital renderings; they’re that beautiful.

Meredith Dittmar is a well-known and well-respected artist now living and working in Portland, Oregon. Taking a close look at her work, it’s easy to believe she has a background in Flash and design, but turned to working with clay full time, creating wonderful characters which she refers to as ‘My Guys.’

Dittmar’s Guys “are frequently involved in quiet expressive moments, or lounge facing their audience so they can share their inner space.” Often referencing the collective unconscious, it states in her online bio: “ Dittmar’s human-animal-plant-energy amalgams contain threads of common elements and colors to express deep levels of union across themes of biology, technology, and consciousness.”

Not to get too serious, Dittmar is never one to turn down a good time and maintains a great sense of humor and a down to earth demeanor that’s both refreshing and charming. Take a peek at some of our favorite pieces by Dittmar below and check out more on her website at www.corporatepig.com
