Meet Valentina Brostean
Thursday, 01 October 2009

It’s always fantastic when established artists introduce us to up-and-coming artists. We’re talking about surrealist painter extraordinaire Todd Schorr and European artist Valentina Brostean.

Brostean is a multimedia artist, currently living and working in Europe, with plans to move to the States next year.

This current body of her work is currently displayed in the United States exemplifies her wide range of works in different media; from original paintings in acrylic and oil on canvas; ink and water color drawings; to digital manipulated art books and illustrations.

Upon looking at Brostean’s work, one is immediately hit with a flood of emotion. Her expressive work is both humorous and painful; she openly discusses intimate visions of heartbreak, isolation, and sexuality. However, her work fails to leave us with a taste of overwhelming melancholy, as the warm colors and animated faces keep us coming back for more.

More from Valentina Brostean here and here.
