Lucas Price Finds His Proper Place
Thursday September 24, 2009

Overcoming a slightly shaky background—expulsion from school, a homeless stint, a drug addiction, and time spent in jail on two continents—UK based artist Lucas Price has established himself as a breakout star in the art world.

Price, who also uses the moniker Cyclops, creates work that focuses on the dark underbelly of society and is often politically charged. He will display his most recent pieces in an upcoming solo show this October in London, called 'Jesus Help Me Find My Proper Place' at Black Rat Press.

“All these references are alive to me. They have beauty within them – I've seen it first hand. The world is wrecked, but it’s still beautiful, and people are so dumb, arrogant, flawed, imperfect yet so capable of good, so full of potential, and that goes for everyone and everything. I'm lucky, so I suppose it's my job to not forget and to show people how it can be.” --Lucas Price
