Los Angeles through the Lens of Boogie
Sunday September 05, 2010 |
![]() Serbian born photographer Boogie has been in Los Angeles the past few days doing what he constantly does, capture the essence or urban life. The subject matter can be harsh at times, but Boogie has earned solid respect from us because through the digital revolution, he’s stayed tried and true to classic black and white analog.
Fascinated by the marginalized, Boogie has been shooting searing portraits all across the globe the past 20 years. An immigrant from Serbia who moved to Brooklyn not knowing anyone with no source of income, he explains, “I was in my studio in Queens without TV, just a mattress and an old radio, so it was rough.”
Aside from his keen street smarts and sharp eye, Boogie is able to capture the amazing photos he does because he absolutely always has a camera with him, allowing the artist to document virtually anything that catches his eye. These are his very latest from LA.
