Kenny Scharf at Paul Kasmin Gallery in NYC
Monday January 31, 2011 |
![]() Legendary Pop Artist Kenny Scharf currently has a two-fold exhibition at Paul Kasmin Gallery in NYC. NATURAFUTURA features a new series of large-scale paintings inspired by the surroundings of Scharf’s coastal studio in Bahia, Brazil, and THREE DOZEN highlights Kenny's iconic donut paintings. As you can see from the new series of paintings, Scharf takes his years as a longtime rainforest activist and mirrors unique interpretations of human's pollution and destruction of natural environments. And with the donuts, the canvases reflect Scharf's trademark wit and pop sense. This begins a busy Spring for Scharf, as he has these two exhibits plus his work being examined at the MOCA's "Art In the Streets" exhibition. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Kenny Scharf NATURAFUTURA Through February 26, 2011 Paul Kasmin Gallery New York, New York Related Articles
