“Hi, my name is Jan Willem Wennekes. After having studied both Philosophy (mainly Ludwig Wittgenstein, he is brilliant) and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Groningen, I decided to take up illustrative design as my life.” This is how Wennekes aka Zeptonn introduces eager viewers to his online home.

After earning degrees, he decided to start working as illustrative designer and art director under the name Zeptonn. Zeptonn enjoys working on a variety of projects such as illustration, character design, graphic design, art direction and organizing art projects. He is also fond of collaborating with other designers and illustrators, as in his recently self-released book Black & White Freedrawings.

While his profound love for colors gives the diversity of his work a clear signature, his fantasy-rich work has also been recognized for its simplicity. Zeptonn creates all sorts of whimsical designs for everything from t-shirts, posters, characters, logos, buttons and books.

“I want my work to convey happiness and to bring a smile to your face. I enjoy working on a variety of projects such as illustration, character design, toy design, identity design and editorial design.
