I've Got You a Date with Botticelli's Niece
Tuesday February 15, 2011 |
![]() That is a brilliant name for an art show. Alexandros Vasmoulakis, the Athens-based fine artists and street artist (as in multi-storied pieces) will be opening I've Got You a Date with Botticelli's Niece at A. Antonopoulou Art in Athens tonight (Feb 15th). Using Botticelli as an influence, and citing how women were treated by the masculine glance and desire as the basis for the new body of work, Vasmoulakis' work examines that "that nude is stronger than naked, that beauty is objective and not ordered, that a body without clothes is enough to bring out the nature and the spirit of a beauty’s character." The best part of the press release is the statement "Alexandros Vasmoulakis, a frequent visitor of the man-woman temple of relationship...". Great line. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Alexandros Vasmoulakis I've Got You a Date with Botticelli's Niece Through March 24, 2011 A. Antonopoulou Art Athens, Greece
