Juxtapoz contributor Isaac McKay-Randozzi also carries a blog on Slap, our sister magazine’s site. Today, Isaac posted a great interview with Mumble man Bob Kronbauer, a graphic designer for Girl Skateboards and founder of the on-line zine called Crownfarmer, which developed into a clothing company.
“The skateboard industry has many behind the scenes people,” Isaac writes. “From photographers to the makers of the graphics and web site monitors to company owners there are a variety of folks lurking in the shadows. Bob Kronbauer has been one of those folks for a while now, wearing many hats and doing a variety of jobs. As one of the original personalities of Crailtap his odd humour in the Daily Randoms helped set the tone of what we now come to expect from that site. Working at Girl he made graphics, slept under the desk, dreaming away the hours for his Nordic home of Vancouver and helped with various projects and production. He started an on-line zine called Crownfarmer that then developed into a clothing company. Over the years it continued but things happen and it went the way of so many art based clothing companies. Never one to stay still for too long he published a photo book, started Mumble Magazine (another on-line identity), got married and even helped to grow a small human inside a woman.
“That was then, this is now. The kid came out (he’s a boy), the Magazine has morphed into a Club and Crownfarmer looks to be on the comeback trail. With another book in the works, the next Honoris Proffisio to be given out soon and his next instalment of the Little Giants film series (featuring Michael Leon) due soon Pappy Kronbauer will be a busy old man for the coming months.”
