Heroes & Villains Joins Beyond Eden Art Fair
Sunday October 04, 2009

Remember Heroes & Villains, the traveling exhibition of photographic portraits by Los Angeles photographers Tatiana Wills and Roman Cho? We sure hope so, because it’s back in action as part of LA’s upcoming Beyond Eden Art Fair.

In case you’ve forgotten, Heroes & Villains is a collection of photographic portraits from an ongoing project that began in 2005, featuring intimate portraits of the most notable, emerging and established figures in the pop surrealist, graffiti and alt-comic book worlds. [See project images here and here.]

Portraits include legendary artists such as Shepard Fairey, David Choe (shown above), Herbert Baglione, Gary Baseman, Liz McGrath, Friends With You, Mark Ryden, Saber, Jaime Hernandez and many others.

The selection of 62 photographs range from the intimate single portrait to larger, dramatic sequences, stretching over 8 ft across. This project is a unique compilation of personality, action, beauty, and humor that reveals the perpetrators of the ever-growing yet still underground art culture we love.

Heroes & Villains is sure to provide another fantastic attraction to an already stellar line-up at Beyond Eden, which includes over 15 LA galleries and a top-notch line up of artists, including WK Interact, Chris Mars, Dave Cooper, Liz McGrath, Amy Sol, Ekundayo, Ericailcane, Know Hope, Ron English, Brooks Salzwedel, Yosuke Ueno, Shepard Fairey, Paul Chatem, Jeff Soto, and more.

This multi-gallery event celebrating the new contemporary art scene in Los Angeles kicks off with an opening gala on Saturday, October 10th from 8pm – Midnight. The fair runs October 9th – October 11th.
