Fresh Paint 2, Tel Aviv’s freshest contemporary art fair, wrapped up yesterday after four days of unprecedented success. Over 34 thousand visitors frequented the fair throughout its four-day stint—more than doubling the turn out of last year’s Fresh Paint 1.
Israel’s leading contemporary art galleries presented the latest from their artists to a great response, but the main focus of the fair was to showcase the work of independent artists. 68 unrepresented painters, sculptors, photographers and video artists were chosen to exhibit their work by a panel of distinguished art professionals after a vigorous selection process. Fresh Paint 2, Tel Aviv’s freshest contemporary art fair, wrapped up yesterday after four days of unprecedented success. Over 34 thousand visitors frequented the fair throughout its four-day stint—more than doubling the turn out of last year’s Fresh Paint 1.
Israel’s leading contemporary art galleries presented the latest from their artists to a great response, but the main focus of the fair was to showcase the work of independent artists. 68 unrepresented painters, sculptors, photographers and video artists were chosen to exhibit their work by a panel of distinguished art professionals after a vigorous selection process.

The fair enables independent artists to be exposed to curators, gallery owners, collectors and the public at large. All works by Fresh Paint 2’s independent artists were available for purchase at the fair and the full revenue for these works was passed directly to the artists.

Notable independent artists who participated this year include Know Hope and Gabby Nathan, whose works sold out completely at the fair, and Dror Daum who was awarded the Most Promising Artist Award 2009 based on overall artistic achievement, promise and potential.
