David Stoupakis is internationally recognized for his eerie portraits of beings that appear wise beyond their years and have a certain knowledge of something past. Inspired by strong and damaged children who demand answers to questions no one hears, the self-taught artist adds haunting imagery and grim fairytale-like elements to his work. Described in the press as "a meld between Alice in Wonderland and The Exorcist," Stoupakis' paintings draw the viewer into a scene centuries old where childhood innocence juxtaposes macabre surroundings to produce images not of this world.
