Brian Schutmaat

Why would an up-and-coming photographer major in history? University of Houston student Bryan Schutmaat might be able to answer that question. Schutmaat's photography has been shown all over the country, mostly in his home state (Texas, genius), and yet he is a history major. We can see how history is a part of his work, at least. There is just as much concern with the capturing of one point in time and space as there is for the aesthetic appeal of that moment. It adds a feeling of places lost in time, a loneliness and poignancy for the past. Get acquainted at www.bryanschutmaat.com, and ask him yourself, "History? Seriously?"
