Bootsy Collins Launches Funk Univ: I Can't Keep All This Funk To Myself

 This is simply a wacky Wednesday slice of fun: Legendary musician Bootsy Collins is launching Funk University. We're not kidding. Bootsy laments that kids today can't tell their James Brown from their George Clinton. “Woah, I can't keep all this funk to myself,” Bootsy states. “This is something that has to be done right now because that's the way funk works.”
The school is online and will offer classes in bass guitar from Professors Flea, Victor Wooten and others. Classes kick off July 1st, 2010.
“Studying with Bootsy at F.U. is going to be intense, warns the F.U. website. “Our first year, studies are focused on intermediate and advanced bass and rhythm. So get ready, cause together we're going to make funk history.”
This could be your funky summer.
